What Is with the Dog Logo?
A number of years ago when we started to think that what we were working on in our spare time was actually worth investing in, we needed to come up with a logo. Our platform is all about encouragement. We want to encourage people to do the work that God has called them to do. And we want to do it in a very tangible way--not just with nice words and images--but with simple, real functionality that changes lives but does not require you abandon all other systems.
Well, great, but what do we do about a logo? Well, before we answer that, we have to tell you a short history of our parent and incubating company, navitend. navitend is a managed information technology services group (i.e. we make computers work for our customers, not against them). navitend's logo is a (very cool) sheep. Why? We have a vision of leading and serving every one who comes into our world.
We are inspired by Psalm 1:3: "He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers."
This idea led us to the sheep logo*.
That brings us back to the encouragework logo. What animal comes to mind when you think of encouragement? Man's best friend perhaps? OK, a dog. But what kind of dog? How about a border collie? They like to round up the herd.
That is how we ended up with our cool dog logo. We hope you like it.
* Every project needs a logo, by the way. If you ever need help with a logo, talk to our friends at Fat Rabbit Creative in Chester, New Jersey.
